Christen is an interdisciplinary artist whose work utilizes a variety of processes such as sewing, wood working, metal casting, and digital videos to discuss themes of memory, familial relationships, and gender. She is from Monroe, Louisiana where she received her BFA in painting and graphic design from the University of Louisiana Monroe in 2013. Following her undergraduate degree, Christen became interested in translating her two-dimensional work into sculptures. She received her MFA in Sculpture at The University of Mississippi in 2019. While pursuing her MFA, she traveled to County Clare, Ireland for an Interdisciplinary Art Summer Study Abroad through UC Denver at the Burren College of Art.
Christen's work has been exhibited in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. She currently lives and works in Memphis, TN.
